With today's technology we can go just about any where and do anything on the run. And with some existing laws on the books you can't drive and use the phone at the same - UNLESS it's hands free. (Check with your local authorities) I purchased a blue tooth device last fall that has a CUSTOM ear piece. The ear piece was molded to my ear and it fits so well that it can't fall out. When the phone rings I pick my ear piece up and stick it in my ear, I hear a little chime and press a button - HELLO this is Dena!
The technology with blue tooth isn't new anymore but the different ways you can use it to your advantage is expanding all the time. I purchased my bluetooth from Dan Wiebe at Liberty Hearing Center here in Pueblo. But Dan travels all over the state, he is a member of NAR, CAR and PAR. you can find Dan at Colorado Association of Realtors at the Broadmore, the Denver Realtors show and many other shows. If you can't find Dan in person visit www.mycustomearstore.com.
As a professional you need to get one of these, I know my time if valuable and so is yours. So get a blue tooth and use your time in the car effectively and safely.

I've always been afraid that I would end up looking like DATA from the Star ship Enterprise!

I like my blue tooth- where I live it is against the law ( I think it is anyways) to drive w/ a cell phone to your ear. It should be because there is too many distractions already on the road and I am amazed just how many people do not pay attention to what is in front of them when they are talking on their phones!
Dena - My biggest blue tooth hurdle is being able to ride my motorcycle with a blue tooth enabled helmet. So far the ones that are out there don't have the sound amplification nor the noise canceling microphones to adequately work for me. But when they do, I'll be first in line!
See I get away with talking to myself - it's a blonde thing...... ; )
OK that is fine for you but what am I going to use for an excuses. OH I know it is an old guy thing......that's it.
Dan..can this be used in conjunction with a BTE aid? Please say yes!

Dena, I was going to comment on your new post but I'm commenting about your picture so I brought it over here instead. I like your new picture! Not because your other one wasn't nice but just because we get to see a different one. It's kind of like sitting down and looking at a friend's photo album. Sorry to have taken this off topic!
I misplaced my BT earset and refuse to plunk down the cash for another one. I had lost it on 2 occasions and found it both times at places I had been to. (had put it down on the table and forgotten about it..it's so small!) I guess I need the kid's mitten version...you know, strung up so it can't be lost. Pretty pathetic. If I ever find it or give in and spring for a new one I am going to secure it...maybe some dental floss? lol I miss the little thing. He was such a useful fella.
KK,
This particular device cannot be set up for BTE's but we do have a product that will work. It is a boot that attaches to the bottom of the BTE!!

I went into a Cingular/ATT store last week to see what products were out there and they have a "military" style Bluetooth that you may want to try. They had a demonstration video in the store and the man was talking normally and you could hear all the noise around him, then he pushed a button and it took virtually all the "noise" out! I believe it was around $130.
Thanks Dan - I'll see if I can't find that.
The other issue is IF it'll fit under the helmet.
Hi Dena:
I got a BT put it just feels weird to wear it so I just go with the standard ear piece which is a bit more awkward to carry around but feels fine to use. Of course people in cars an stores still think I am talking to myself because I hide it well.
I just got my new bluebooth and I love it! The first one died in 4 days, I have to return it to Verizon to get a new one (bought it online), so I went out and bought a "backup" that's a different maker and model and I like it so much better than the other one that that one's going to end up being the backup.
So, yes, I've been assimilated into the Borg. Between that and jott, I'm really cookin' now!
